About Me
Hello everyone. I extend my warmest greetings to you during this time of pain caused by a current or historical relational experience. I specialize in offering support to those who are seeking to heal and find closure after a breakup with someone who had an insecure attachment, secure folks who are wanting to navigate aspects of their relationship with their insecurely attached partner, healing from abusive relationships with an insecurely attached ex, helping you to heal your own insecure attachment woundings to move to a more secure attachment, and working with individuals who had an ex with an insecure attachment that struggled with an addiction, including a pornography addiction or other hypersexual behaviours. As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community I have a unique understanding of the challenges that dating and relationships can bring to members of the rainbow community, and how our own identities can impact our attachments and how we understand ourselves. As such, I help my clients tap into their resilience as well as themselves through my coaching skills which are informed by my experience as a social worker where I exercise my clinical skills daily with clients.
I have been active in the helping field for 11 years and have worked with a wide variety of populations including: the sector of domestic violence, newcomers, refugees and immigrants to Canada, youth and adults experiencing homelessness, transitional housing, and head-start programs for pre-schoolers and their caregivers. I currently work in the field of addiction and mental health and I specialize in providing counseling to folks with behavioural and substance addictions. I am trauma-informed in my work and use a variety of clinical and holistic methods to support my clients in their healing. I received my bachelors of social work from Renison University in 2020 and am a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers (registrant no. 837363).
My background in social work has equipped me with the clinical skills and the ability to deeply connect and support my clients as the foundation for my coaching. My coaching will be through the lens of attachment theory, and is a new and exciting addition of services I will be offering you through Ken Reid Counseling. Relationships are not easy, but when we are equipped with the tools and knowledge to rewrite unhelpful and painful patterns in ourselves, we can set new standards and expectations for future relationships with ourselves and with others. I spent years healing my own insecure attachment and have experienced heartbreak from friends and loved ones who were living in and acting out their own suffering and limiting beliefs due to their own attachment woundings. At this time I will only be working one-on-one with individuals.
The kindness and compassion I strive to live by touches all areas of my life including my work. I approach all my clients with genuine curiosity, free of judgement and full of empathy to understand how your unique life experiences and pain points are affecting you so you can reach your goals and come out the other side more resilient and insightful than before. My goal is to help guide you back to your light that was dimmed from pain and trauma so you can live a life that is one of joy, of authenticity, and free of suffering from attachment woundings.

"I have been working with Meaghen for several months and has helped me so much to understand how my attachment woundings are impacting my relationships and myself. I have never felt judged by Meaghen and I always feel so safe and comfortable to open up to her and share my own insecurities and hear what will benefit me to grow and change to be the person I want to be. My anxieties are lower and I feel more love and stability for myself."

"Meaghen is the only clinician I have worked with who was willing to go deep with me into my attachment woundings and made it easy to understand why I was behaving in such destructive ways. Meaghen knows what she is talking about and she pushes me and will call me out on my BS. Meaghen allowed me to learn from my mistakes and missteps through my healing journey and will push me and is straightforward with me which is what I needed."

"I can hear and feel how passionate Meaghen is in her work and how much she cares about the genuine healing and wellbeing of her clients. Meaghen is able to really hear me and she is able to meet me where I am at and is so validating to my own experiences of how I hurt previous partners and how I was then hurt by being on the receiving end of my own actions without judgement or assumptions. She gets that hurt people do hurt others and helped me to keep my dignity in tact while being firm yet caring to help me grow."
