These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Ken Reid Counselling and all clients, users, or visitors to our services and website. Please read them carefully before engaging with our practice.
2. Nature of Services

Anxiety, boundaries, identity, and communication
All services are provided by qualified professionals who operate within their respective scope of practice.
Coaching and reflective services (e.g., voice memo coaching or tarot sessions) are not a substitute for therapy or medical treatment. Clients are encouraged to seek additional professional support if required.
3. Confidentiality
All information disclosed in sessions is confidential and protected under the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) Code of Ethics and Practice.
However, confidentiality may be broken under the following circumstances:
-
If there is reason to believe you are at risk of serious harm to yourself or others
-
If required by a court of law or legal process
-
If written consent has been provided by you to share information with another party
-
For professional supervision purposes (where identifying information is not disclosed)
All client records are securely stored for seven (7) years in accordance with legal and ethical requirements.
4. Session Boundaries and Conduct
Sessions are typically 50 minutes in duration unless otherwise agreed upon.
We ask all clients to:
-
Arrive on time for sessions and provide at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or reschedules
-
Engage honestly and respectfully with their clinician or coach
-
Refrain from attending sessions under the influence of alcohol or illicit substances
Our practitioners reserve the right to terminate services if a client engages in ongoing disrespectful, aggressive, or unsafe behaviour.
5. Payments, Cancellations, and Refunds
Each practitioner sets their own session fee, which will be clearly communicated prior to booking.
Sessions must be paid in full before or at the time of the appointment.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of a scheduled session may be charged the full session fee. Refunds are not provided for completed services.
6. Record Keeping
Practitioners may take brief notes to support continuity of care. These notes are maintained securely and are not shared without client consent, except where legally required.
Records for adult clients are retained for seven (7) years from the last session. For minors, records are kept for seven (7) years after the client turns 18.

8. Termination of Services

The client’s needs are better met by another service

Ethical or safety concerns arise
9. Professional Standards
All counselling services are conducted in accordance with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) Code of Ethics and Practice.
